The Poor Slobs Guide On How To Become a Millionaire

A COMMON SENSE GUIDE TO GETTING RICH

How do you get rich?

For you too get rich, you are going to have to do something, and do it now! That means giving up your lattes, plasma screen televisions, brand new cars and whatever else that it is that you are buying that is contributing to your debt.

We as Americans, have fallen into a miserable routine of being creatures of habit and comfort, afforded by piling up so much debt that we become slaves to paying off debt. This is not good. If we are to succeed and to live up to our fullest potential as human beings, then we have to face up to the fact that the only way to make our dreams come true is to sacrifice and give up some of the things that we associate with being comfortable.

Look around you and take inventory. How many things do you have that you really don’t need? How many things do you own that you are still making payments on? If you’re honest with yourself, you should probably be crying by now. Fact is that we all own more then we need, and except for those who are already rich, most of us can not afford what we have. It’s a vicious cycle that needs to be broken before we can even begin to think about changing our life.

From the moment we are born, we are targeted by the corporate marketers who decide what and how we are going to buy. Don’t believe it? Go to your local “Target” for an hour and roam around the store observing people as they go about their shopping. First thing that you will notice is the look of shame that many of the people have on their faces upon entering the store. They know they shouldn’t be there, but they come anyway due in part by the need to purchase something that makes them feel that they are not as poor as they think they are.

The next thing that you will notice is that there is a hell of a lot of people wandering around seeking out to buy something that there not even sure that they need. How’s that for corporate brainwashing. You get people to come to your store to buy things that they do not even need. See, right there you should see something that hits you right smack in the middle of your forehead like a lightening bolt. You are hooked, addicted to buying, and a victim of the media mass marketing attack.

The next thing that you will notice is the urge to buy something that you don’t need. One afternoon I went in to a local “Target” expecting just to observe, and ended up buying a piece of sh** that I didn’t even need, just because it looked like a bargain.

Every dollar that leaves your hands is a dollar that you worked hard to earn. So one of the first things that you are going to have to do is walk over to a mirror, stare yourself right in the eye and repeatedly call yourself stupid. Then while still staring into the mirror, promise yourself that you are not going to let this type of behavior continue. And for gods sake! Please become more aware of your media intake and what you are going to be spending your hard earned dollars on.

Don’t think this is true? Return my book for a refund, you do not need it.

One of the first things that you are going to have to do is break this cycle. How? By first realizing, that you have an addiction. An addiction to marketing. A lot of you will be saying by this point, who in the hell is he to be telling me that I’m addicted to marketing? I’m taking his book back. Go ahead I say. There are plenty of other people out there interested in getting rich.

Without going into a lot of explicit details and scientific reports all I can tell you to prove my theory is that one of the biggest problems about being a poor slob is that those who are not poor slobs do not want you to be rich. People hate the rich, and the rich hate us. That is the reason for gated communities and the reason why the rich spend a lot of money on trying to build a wall around them to keep poor slobs like us from getting to them.

One of the hardest things that you will ever have to do in your battle to make a million is too try to get someone with money, to give you money to start a business or to back a project that you think will get you closer to not being a poor slob. Getting money from people is as difficult as finding a heart donor, and one of the hardest things that you will ever have to do in your life.

So be prepared. Whatever it is that you are going to do, be it be starting a business, writing a book, a movie script, or inventing something, it is going to take a Herculean effort to get it done. That means approaching your project as a professional. Whatever project it is that you are going to start up begins with you. If you are not properly vested as a person, then forget about everything you have read here, because nothing is going to work.

Most people sit around and talk sh** about how they could do something better then someone else, or how the movie they just saw stinks. Great! Good for you. But the fact remains, if you think you can do it better, then why are you not doing it? Instead of sitting around bitching about everyone else, you should be out there learning about whatever it is that you think that you can do better, and then do it. Simple! But alas, that is not the way most of us think. For you to achieve your goals and ambitions, you are going to have to find a way to really change who and what you are. Sound difficult? It is.
